About uBRITE
A lighting brand inside a nineteen-year-old electronics company. We are small enough that the person who specified your lighting will answer the phone about it.

Sumar International, Inc. was founded in 2007 to build consumer electronics with multi-national partner companies, under one condition: everything we put our name on has to be safe, environmentally sound and actually pleasant to use.
uBRITE™ is the brand we created when LED lighting became good enough to be worth doing properly. The premise has not changed since the first carton: a lamp that lasts longer, survives being dropped, and costs a fraction of an incandescent to run — sold with a warranty that means something.
We work with manufacturing partners across three continents, but we specify the components ourselves. That is the part most brands outsource, and it is the part that decides whether a 25,000-hour lamp reaches 25,000 hours.
Four commitments we can be held to
Every one of these is measurable, which is the point of writing them down.
We specify the driver, not just the diode
Capacitor temperature ratings and endurance hours are written into every product specification we issue. It is the component that decides real-world lifetime and the one most brands leave to the factory.
We publish the numbers that flatter us least
Rated life at eight hours a day as well as three. Flicker percentage at every dimming level. The dimmer models we failed compatibility testing with, not only the ones we passed.
We measure savings after installation
Sixty days after a retrofit we re-read the meter profile and send the measured result. When it undershoots the estimate, that goes in the report too.
We take the old lamps back
Every order ships with a prepaid recycling mailer. CFLs contain mercury and must not go in household waste; we route them to R2-certified processors and publish recovery figures annually.

The A19 40 W and 60 W replacements ship, with shatter resistance and a five-year registered warranty as standard.

2018 — Recycling programme
Prepaid mailers introduced for CFL, halogen and LED returns, routed to certified processors.

Residential retrofit and commercial photometric design added, so specification and installation come from the same team.

2024 — Metered verification
Sixty-day post-installation measurement becomes standard on every retrofit, replacing estimated savings with measured ones.

2026 — Flicker specification
Published flicker performance at every dimming level across the range, ahead of the IEEE 1789 recommended practice becoming common in tenders.
